Role Purpose:

 

The position is mainly responsible for ensuring that the stores within the Oman portfolio have world class/highest design & delivery standards which meet the unique individual brand identities of each asset and which will have positive impact on the overall profitability of the Shopping Malls Business Unit.
This will cover new retail concepts, fit out designs of tenants & enhancement of existing units.

 

 

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

 

  • Effective delegation of tasks according to the department’s needs and Asset/Project requirements.
  • Coach employees to help them perform in their positions more efficiently.
  • Planning the team activities by setting-out tasks, objectives, and priorities such as creating a detailed action plan.
  • Determining measurable KPI’s; defining ways to achieve them and articulate both short and long-term goals to ensure the business unit’s success.
  • Communicating the organization’s direction and vision to employees/team as well as stakeholders.
  • Creating and controlling budgets, monitoring expenses, and performing cost analysis.
  • Planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating day-to-day team activities, ensuring they meet the organization’s goals, objectives, and regulations. Adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Overseeing people management processes, including the training, management, development, and evaluation of employees.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Provide status reports, outline deliverables, highlight risks and issues, and communicate across leadership.
  • Responsible for coordinating innovative and world class design standards for retailers for new asset and developments, which meet the RDD’s criteria across SMBU.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for impact on base-build structures of the malls.
  • Establish delivery manual and implement seamless fit out delivery on all assets and developments.
  • Compile drawings & specifications documentation for use during design & delivery negotiations.
  • Maintain a database of international retail designs consultants, award winning/ exceptional mall designs, pre-qualified fit-out contractors, and other related information.
  • Ensure that all shops/units are fully operational by the established opening date. This includes tenancy delivery team in adhering on-site store delivery, and minimization of downtime in the income stream as a result of programmed openings.
  • Ensure compliance with the Majid Al Futtaim Properties (MAFP) SMBU’s Code of Conduct, Departmental policies and Human Capital Policies and Procedures at all times.
  • Be the advocate and ambassador of aligning and cascading the MAFP values across SMBU and ensure that relevant team adhere to and exhibit the same all the time.
  • Build the efficiency of staff reporting by providing on time regular feedback including annual review on performance and identify areas of improvement / reinforcement for further development.
  • Manage, guide and mentor the Asset Leads for each mall to take full responsibility in identifying potential talent and timely supporting professional development.

Minimum Qualifications/Experiences:

 

•    10+ years' of progressive and successful experience in managing Retail Design and Tenant Delivery ideally in large Shopping Mall / retail development company in GCC or abroad in a similar role

•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Architecture or equivalent
