Private Label Product Manager

Role Purpose:


The Private Label Product Manager is responsible for contributing to the Private Label product development under the supervision of the PL Sourcing & Product Development Manager. The role holder is also responsible for the follow up of the existing range.


Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Private Label Product Development

  • Source, develop, launch Private Label products aligned with development plans
  • Ensure Private Label items meet local sales targets and profit goals
  • Support the respect of deadlines during Private Label development process by coordinating with Suppliers and Quality team to secure item’s planned launch dates
  • Organise in collaboration with Quality Team product tasting panels
  • Participate in the product packaging development process

Launch and After Launch follow up

  • Follow up on the manufacturing and launch of new Private Label products
  • Ensure the stock availability for relevant Private Label products including promotions by coordinating with Sourcing Team, Replenishment and Suppliers
  • Provide Sourcing and Private Label teams with sales analysis tools and KPIs and follow up materials to allow them to take appropriate actions
  • Communicate about the launch and ensure the range is available on all platforms (Internal & External – Online & Offline)

Coordination with Internal Stakeholders

  • Support the improvement of logistic flows, marketing and product display
  • Coordinate the Private Label development plan with Sourcing team and Sales Development team to maximise resources and sales potential

Human Capital Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and seek professional development opportunities to improve leadership and technical skills pertaining to the direct line of work
  • Apply and follow MAF Retail’s Human Capital corporate policies and relevant procedures and instructions
  • Provide training and feedback to direct reportees when required

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

Minimum Qualifications/education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing

Minimum experience

  • 2-4 years in a similar role

  • Strong business communication and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and analytical abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel Suite
  • English (Full professional proficiency - Required)
  • Arabic is a plus
