As the Legal Counsel, you will be the legal advisor to the countries operational management and executive leadership teams.

Working closely with all areas of the business, you will be leading and managing the legal and risk management practices and will be a key contributor to the medium and long term strategies and direction of Majid Al Futtaim’s growth across the retail sector of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.


Whether managing the drafting of contracts and partnerships to advising on the commercial and operational impact of new or changing legislation, managing intellectual property, or the transaction of new sites, to advising on labour and employment issues or litigation, you will ensure not only our compliance with legislation in the country but advise the business as a trusted partner. 


As an experienced Legal counsel you already know that no two days are the same and you will need a broad range of knowledge and expertise to manage and mitigate risks, whilst also having the ability to explain complex legal practices in a way that can be understood by all. 

Whether liaising internally with colleagues at all levels, or representing the business to external bodies, including ministries and government agencies, you will ensure that we not only comply with, but are active in the development of, regional legislation.


As well as managing the day to day legal activities you will also lead and develop a local team to ensure that the support the business in the full range of legal requirements, from drafting contracts and partnership agreements and analysing complex transactions, to providing counsel on employment matters and trends. 


To be successful in this role you will already have: 

  • At least 10 years experience in a large rapidly growing commercial legal team in either a multinational or large local organisation. 
  • You will hold a recognised legal qualification and will be recognised by the legal bodies in the Kingdom. 
  • You have spent at least 5 years leading and developing a team of legal professionals.
