Job Purpose:

 

The Learning Experience Designer will focus on the design and development of compelling and innovative learning solutions and experiences that support the business objectives. Reporting to the Learning Lab Senior Manager, this role sits within the Global Solutions L&D function and will provide instructional design expertise and demonstrate excellence in modern learning experience design. The Learning Experience Designer will collaborate and build strong working relationships with stakeholders in all Operating Companies across MAF.

Job Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Consult with customers (Operating Companies, Business Units and Functions) to achieve organizational learning objectives to support effective business outcomes
  • Design, develop, test and deploy innovative, effective and highly scalable, global learning solutions for employees across MAF using modern learning technologies and methods
  • Apply design principles used in LXD from interaction design, user experience design, experience design, graphic design, and game design
  • Consult, guide, and project manage deliverables throughout the learning design phases and cycles while engaging with both internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Ensure quality of learning solutions by adhering to sound adult learning principles and designs
  • Identify and Partner with subject matter experts from the businesses to oversee the curation or creation of learning material, to meet learning needs and objectives
  • Develop the learning pedagogy as well as evaluation methods and outputs
  • Oversee the design, development and update of supplemental training materials such as evaluations, workbooks, lesson plans and surveys
  • Partner with SMEs to conduct experiments, pilots, observations, and other data collection for evidence of learning impact
  • Write effective copy, instructional text, audio and video scripts
  • Ensure that new and existing content follows style, taxonomy and governance to align with MAF’s brand guidelines
  • Partner with the Global L&D team to ensure alignment with key priorities and roadmaps
  • Partner with GS L&D operations team to ensure the learning solutions and material can be easily implemented and launched in a timely fashion
  • Maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of developments in the industry and identify innovative learning technologies and approaches to develop best-in-class solutions

 

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

Skillset (job specific technical skills and behavioral competencies needed)

  • A demonstrated passion for developing awesome learning experiences with a true appreciation for audience needs, thoughtful design, rapid development, attention to details and a keen focus on the learning experience and alignment to broader business strategies
  • Ability to translate content into a visual, multimedia experience, leveraging graphics, motion graphics, audio and visual design skills
  • Proven Experienced using a variety of authoring tools (Storyline, Rise, Articulate, Camtasia, Vyond etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Experience with designing and developing learning experiences in a variety of modern channels – embedded learning, videos, micro-learning, social, mobile, experiential learning, OJT, etc.
  • Prior experience designing and developing emerging learning experiences including VR/AR, chatbots, adaptive learning, game-based learning and immersive scenario-based learning a plus
  • Experience with assessments and certifications helpful
  • Ability to form and engage in productive partnerships with critical internal stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Team player with the ability to work in an Agile, cross-functional team and collaborate with peers on larger projects and solutions
  • Comfortable consulting with stakeholders as needed
  • Proactive, takes initiative and demonstrates good judgment in a dynamic, changing environment
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly, with enthusiasm and resourcefulness when tackling unfamiliar tasks and requests
  • Intellectually curious and has a growth mindset
  • Demonstration of strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize own work, handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail ability to complete projects on time
  • Experience with external partner relationships and vendor management
  • Very good command of the English language

 

Minimum experience

6 or more years of practical, professional experience in learning solutions design and development, preferably in a complex corporate environment

 

 

Minimum Qualifications/education

 

 Bachelor’s Degree or 10 or more years of relevant working experience

 Instructional Design Certification / Learning Experience Design (or similar relevant accreditation) is a must
