Reporting to: Compliance Manager

Location: Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment, Corporate Head office.

Role Purpose:

The role will be responsible for functionally leading the inventory control team in order to complete daily, weekly and monthly tasks of asset protection department to ensure high efficiency in the areas of “supply chain, inventory control & fixed asset tracking” across all stores and warehouses and will regular audits, schedule and execute inventory regular counts, surprise inventory counts, surprise asset counts to ensure the right inventory levels are reported and make sure that control measures are in place to ensure proper process of asset management.


Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Inventory Count Scheduling & Execution

• Plan & Schedule stock take dates for stores and warehouses as per policy and procedure.

• Verify the stock take process and ensure to complete the stock take activity as per procedure.

• Guide store / inventory teams in finalizing count sheets.

• Finalize count sheets and forward for final approvals.

• Perform inventory adjustments in system after completing approval process.

• Plan & execute surprise counts.


General Management

• Run aging report for all entities and save the same in asset protection share folder.

• Process monthly aging report summary and COGS summary for management review.

• Communicate with IT support in the event of system related issues.

• Work with IT department in generating new reports or tools for efficient inventory management.

• Communicate with Merchandise team in relation with item master management.

• Provide a brief report to management if any special attention required for any area.


Planning, Delivery & Support

• Leads the role in defining inventory systems and set ups across stores and warehouses.

• Reviews and validates the inventory system implementation process in association with IT and other departments in a timely manner.

• Designs and implements standard operating procedures for inventory management across all operating locations. • Monitors and reviews the inventory movements and transactions across all stores and warehouses.

• Guides asset protection and store teams in the event of addressing issues related to inventory management.

• Performs analytical exercise for management reporting in the areas of Fixed asset and inventory management.

• Design the general functions of Asset Protection team in line with business requirements.

• Ensures that teams are meeting the deadlines defined for the operating year.

• Deal with departments (Finance, IT, Operations, Marketing, etc.) on behalf of asset protection team.

• Develops customized reports for inventory & asset tracking in association with IT department.

• Design & finalize yearly stock take schedules for all store & warehouse locations.

• Ensure monthly cycle counts across all store locations.

• Plan & execute surprise cash verification visits by asset protection team across all stores.

• Support finance, compliance & operations departments in improving efficiency in cash management process.


Fixed Asset Tracking

• Design & implement standard operating procedures for fixed asset tracking across all operating companies.

• Perform lead role in defining & establishing asset tracking systems.

• Reviews asset booking status in MAF Fixed Asset Register.

• Ensures timely tagging of assets especially MP games & attractions.

• Monitors and reviews assets transfer process within MAF locations.

• Reviews asset sales and disposal processes based on approved SOPs.

• Review asset sales or disposal documents and deal with FAR team to book the same in FAR.

• Schedule asset count across stores & warehouses.

• Schedules and executes regular asset counts for Magic Planet games and attractions across all locations.

• Reconciles asset records based on counts performed.

• Perform analysis on asset transfer or sale process.

• Communicate with FSSC & reconcile Fixed Asset Register as per actual physical status.

• Communicate with buying team, GRN team, IT & FAR team to ensure timely booking of assets purchased.

• Ensure all assets are labelled with permanent asset number as per Fixed Asset Register

• Verify asset disposal forms & ensure that sold assets are disposed timely as per procedure.


Definition of Success

• Every year execute 4 full inventory counts in each location of MAF Entertainment.

• Execute at least 1 full inventory count in all warehouse locations in Egypt per year.

• Perform at least 1 verification for “fixed asset & inventory” across MAF Entertainment Egypt stores per year.

• Track the movement of FEC “game & attraction” assets & all inventories.

• Execute quarterly full inventory counts in each store.

• Execute yearly full inventory count in all warehouse locations.

• Execute at least 1 physical verification by AP team for “fixed asset, inventory & cash” across MAF Entertainment stores


Functional/Technical Competencies

• Must be familiar with computerized inventory and supply chain systems.

• Capable of managing a team & work towards achieving departmental objectives.

• Having good interpersonal skills to deal with floor teams, higher managers, other departments & auditors

• Capable of planning & executing inventory or asset counts independently.

• Capable of working with limited supervision.

Other Context

• This position requires frequent travelling across MAF stores and warehouses located in all operating countries in relation with performing above listed duties.

• Performs any additional adhoc duties as and when required by the Line Manager and/or Head of Department.

• Able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Occasional travel may be required within the region to support new project openings.

• Adheres to MAF Entertainment policies and procedures with regards to HSE, grooming, code of conduct, work ethics, working hours and attendance.

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in inventory control, Warehousing logistics & fixed asset tracking preferably in retail or entertainment industry.

 Minimum Educational Qualification Required

• Good exposure to inventory / ERP systems.

• Good track record in scheduling & executing inventory and asset counts.

• Bachelor’s degree (Science / Commerce / Supply Chain / Business Management / Computer Applications)

• Good to have – Certifications in inventory / supply chain / Logistics / MBA / Master’s in Management (Operations / Supply Chain / Planning / Finance / Project / Asset protection / Loss prevention) will be a plus.
