Role Purpose:

 

Responsible for performing various operational activities within Majid Al Futtaim Holding Treasury Function. The role is primarily focused towards daily bank reconciliation, daily review of MT940 statements, counter party exposure reporting and periodic reconciliation with opco and other parties. Over time, the individual is expected to acquire good understanding of Reval (Treasury Management System) and Straight through payment process(STPP).  He/She will also be required to provide input and support on various treasury projects.

 

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

 

    • Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily bank reconciliation for Majid Al Futtaim Holding treasury accounts. Work closely with Back Office Manager and Majid Al Futtaim Holding Finance to resolve any unreconciled item.
    • Cash reporting through MT940: Daily review of MT940 statements for all accounts across the group. Identify any missing statements, follow up with Banks, Vendor or/and Opcos as appropriate to ensure availability.
    • Counter party exposure: Under the guidance of Middle Office prepare and issue country party exposure reports. This involves collecting and compiling information from Reval and other sources including Middle Office, Majid Al Futtaim Trust and Majid Al Futtaim Capital.
    • Accounting: Coordinate with Finance to ensure smooth accounting run at the month end. Be the first level contact for any issue and work with the team to resolve the matter.
    • Treasury Management System: Acquire understanding for Cash & Bank and Payment modules for Reval (TMS). He/She should be able to manage changes to the setup with the help of Reval Customer Support and Middle office.  
    • STP payment process/ Payment middle ware: Acquire understanding of the process flow for the STP. Be the first level contact for all opco’s for issues related to middle ware setup. Be able to work with Treasury Express team to help resolution. 
    • Periodic reconciliation with Opcos: Responsible for performing quarterly reconciliation with all operating companies with an objective to ensure Reval’s (Treasury Management System) bank account data base is up-to-date and reconciled. 
    • Reconciliation for authorized signatories/dealing mandates: Perform quarterly reconciliation of latest approved authorized signatories and dealers list with banks to ensure these mandates are up-to-date and reflected correctly in banks records.
    • Prepare periodic treasury reports as assigned. 
    • Provide support on ad hoc assignments/projects as appropriate.
    • Back up: Act as back up for back office operations manager.

 

 

Definition of Success

This role has following KPI’s

  • No of bank accounts reconciliations. All Treasury accounts should be reconciled 100% on daily basis. Timely resolution of unreconciled items.
  • Complete visibility of cash balances through MT940 statements for all accounts across the group.
  • Timely/Quality periodic reconciliations with opcos and banks.

Functional/Technical  Competencies

  • Basic understanding of Treasury Management Systems (TMS)
  • Understanding of transactional banking.

 

 

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

 

  • Degree holders in Accounting/ Finance or similar academic discipline;
  • Preferably 1-2 years working experience within corporate treasury department,
  • Membership or student membership of ACT will be an advantage;
  • Strong analytical and coordination skill;
  • Proactive, well-organized and ready to assume responsibilities;
  • Attentive to details and good at prioritizing jobs under tight timeframe;
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent skills in written and oral English;
