Job Purpose:

This role will be responsible for the strategy and business development of Food and Beverage working closely with the Strategy and Business Development head to identify, assess, conceptualize, negotiate, execute and manage new business development/ partnerships opportunities. This role will also be responsible for the strategy development, act as a Project Manager and executor of existing and new projects as well as and track new growth avenues for MAF F&B beyond the core business (e.g. digital capabilities, new concepts). and implementation and synergy realization oversight.

Job Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Growth Strategy Development

  • Develop and maintain strong industry knowledge in F&B; have a strong understanding of global as well as industry specific trends related to F&B by geographies
  • Deliver insightful analyses on opportunities based on F&B industry/ market trends and competitive dynamics to identify threats and improvement/ expansion areas
  • Develop business case for new initiatives
  • Contribute to the development of expansion strategies (geographic or adjacency expansion) and to the securing of strategic partnerships for our core businesses


Business Development

  • Source, screen and evaluate potential strategic partnership opportunities while coordinating with the various internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development agreements/ partnerships that drive value including identifying, creating, leading, structuring, negotiating, and implementing such agreements
  • Oversee/ validate the creation of detailed financial models including income statement and synergy forecasting, multiple scenario analyses, capital structure modeling, etc.
  • Perform company, industry, market and competitor research and analyses to inform the opportunity assessment and valuation
  • Review/ prepare term sheets and letters of intent and assist with negotiating strategic partnership documents, including commercial framework agreements and purchase agreements
  • Monitor partnerships post-execution to ensure proper tracking and realization of commercial synergies
  • Create reports and communication material to Majid Al Futtaim senior management while working directly with internal and external stakeholders (investment bankers, consultants, experts, lawyers, and accountants)

Business Transformation:

  • Ensure that strategy is executed in a timely fashion with relevant stakeholders
  • Set up and manage project governance
  • Deliver project objectives and key results on time
  • Problem-solve to mitigate key risks and address dependencies

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

Skill Set (job specific technical skills and behavioral competencies needed)

  • Strong analytical and data analytical skills, fluency in performing rigorous financial, valuation and broad quantitative analyses and familiarity with financial/ accounting and key operational metrics
  • Hardworking, energetic, charismatic, and a self-starter eager to drive work independently, while able to effectively work with multi-functional teams
  • High aptitude to learn quickly, assimilate to new teams and projects, and work well under pressure with appropriate attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and have a strong sense of ownership over shaping and executing upon our strategy and prioritized initiatives
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously with limited supervision with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build credibility with business partners to gain support for analysis and recommendations and to collaborate with cross-functional partners
  • Curious and experienced with data analytics and insights generation including data extraction, processing and modelling and the ability to generate and translate business recommendations
  • Experience within the family business, retail, consumer, and real estate industries with a focus on emerging trends such as eCommerce, digital, etc. is a plus


Relevant Experience

  • 5 to 7 years of professional experience in Corporate Development, Strategic Business Development, Tier-1 Management Consulting or Entrepreneurship


Minimum Qualifications/ Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a highly reputable university with a strong academic record
  • Project management certification PMP, PMI is a plus
  • MBA is a plus
