Role Purpose:


The Role’s Purpose is to ensure the planning, execution and successful delivery of a large portfolio of complex IT Infrastructure Programs and Projects, including, but not limited to, network, shared infrastructure services, systems, cloud services and wireless portfolios.


Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Main Responsibilities:


  • As a Senior Technical Delivery Manager, the role requires management of resources for the planning and execution of a large portfolio of IT infrastructure projects across the MAF landscape, within budget and required timeframes.
  • Overall management of these complex projects. In partnership with the business, MAFTech Functional Leads and relevant functions, the Senior Technical Delivery Manager will lead delivery planning and execution, governance, status reporting, risk and issues management, and budget tracking.
  • Working closely with all key MAFTech functions, including Architecture and Solution Design, Infrastructure and Application operations, Portfolio and Project Management, Security Operations to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ensuring all required PMO practices and processes are followed incl.  demand management, project management, resource management.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered according to the architecture design principles and guardrails
  • Responsible to deliver new projects and transitions to the operations team in a steady state.
  • Create, document and ensure that necessary as-build architectures and system documents are generated
  • Team recruitment, coaching, development and performance management


Definition of Success


  • Successful Delivery of assigned initiatives and projects with pre-defined KPIs
  • Documented and up-to-date architecture repository of all as-build solutions across the group
  • Defined process and templates on architecture documentation (as-is), creation (new/to-be), and standards
  • Ensuring deployed solutions follow compliance thus establishing architecture governance, contributing to higher rate of technology implementations
  • Successful delivery of assigned projects

Functional/Technical Competencies


  • Excellent knowledge on Cloud Technologies, Data Center Management, Network data and voice, Application infrastructure, End User Support, Helpdesk and deskside support, End User Services, Desktop Management & Infrastructure Security
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or related field.
  • Project Management, IT Service Management Qualification
  • Functional and Technical Experience: Minimum 15 years
  • Experience in IT Project Delivery Management: Minimum 10 years
  • Minimum 10 years experience in managing large, complex, infrastructure projects and programs
  • Industry Standard Expert Certifications:
    • Industry Expert Certifications in Network & Security Infrastructure such as CCIE in Enterprise, Data Center or Security Discipline or
    • Industry Expert Certifications in Systems from VMWARE and Microsoft for Software Defined Data Centers or
    • Industry Expert Certifications in Cloud such as Amazon Web Services Solution Architect Professional and Microsoft Azure Architect Design. Additional Specialties in Cloud Network or Security are an added benefit.

  • Strong analytical problem-solving ability
