Role Purpose:

The Property Manager Technology Lead is responsible for proactively identifying and assessing new technologies that can build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of Shopping Malls in line with business strategy, priorities and different business defined journeys for consumers, customers and assets

 

He/ She strives to understand market challenges, including customer priorities and competitive issues. He/she serves a lead role in enabling the business to achieve their objectives through the effective use of technology

 

He/ She shall ensure the design and execution of the shopping malls technology and systems is aligned with corporate IT standards and will manage the way in collaboration with Corporate IT teams serving as a SPOC for the technology delivery

 

He/ She will also understand the Enterprise Architecture roadmap, and constantly balance short-term project pressures against long-term architectural goals

 

He/ She will act as an IT SPOC for the new shopping malls under development; He/ She endeavors to leverage his/her knowledge of IT ensure shopping malls technology solutions are designed and delivered as per MAF approved technology standards. He/ She expected to have excellent relationship management with peers in shopping malls development and IT always

 

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Strategic role:

  • Development of property management technology standards which are aligned with anticipated Business Unit requirements in accordance with best practices
  • Understand the shopping malls business, identify their needs and develop, implement and deliver new technologies including but not limited to, proof of concepts and pilot projects delivery
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Development stakeholders across geography

 

Operational role:

  • Provide education to BU stakeholders with regards to shopping malls technology service offerings
  • Promote effective use of technology to improve productivity, eliminate waste and process simplicity
  • Promote business projects and value to the IT leaders and community
  • Develop, share, and leverage best practices across IT
  • Define, prioritize, and manage projects/ initiatives in line with business priorities
  • Track ROI for business initiatives including cost, benefits, and risk
  • Assess new technologies to support business needs
  • Assist in the development of metrics used to track value delivery
  • Gather high-level business requirements and define scope during initial discovery by conducting meetings/interviews, and facilitating large group/cross-functional sessions with partners
  • Actively contribute in the development of business cases requiring IT-based solutions
  • Monitor that the IT delivery is meeting the partner’s expectations
  • Refine SLAs based on business need
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of the current and future directions of the industry and associated technologies, and, where appropriate, make recommendations for implementation of new/upgraded systems and technologies
  • Maintain knowledge of multiple business functions and initiatives to identify where conflicts/synergies exist between technologies and business functions
  • Ensure alignment with the IT solution teams
  • Proper and effective management of internal and external resources

Technical Skills

·         Analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements

·         An understanding of contemporary requirements elicitation, analysis, specification, verification, and management practices and the ability to apply them in practice; familiarity with requirements engineering books and resources

·         Knowledge of how enterprise technology solutions are positioned and developed

·         Domain knowledge is a must to have credibility with user representatives and can work effectively with them

·         Sample of shopping malls technology solutions domain knowledge: IP CCTV, Security Access Control, Video Analytics, Public Address and Background music system, People counting, Smart Parking, building management systems, Way finding and navigation, Digital signage, Wi-Fi and location based services, Network & Voice infrastructure

Background/ Experience

Academic/ Professional Qualification

·         Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field; or equivalent work experience

 

Experience:

·         7 or more years of IT and business work experience with a broad range of exposure to various technical environments and business segments

·         Proven track record managing IT delivery in new shopping malls development environment

·         At least 5 years of experience with managing team(s), working with a broad range of diverse and complicated business units

·         Has good working experience working in matrix reporting structure with corporate IT and business unit

·         Has proven track record in delivering business solutions that impact the business
