Role Purpose:

 

The purpose of this position is to support the planning, execution and management of end-to-end sourcing activities across various supplier spend categories (Marketing, Facility Management and Operations, IT, HR, Legal etc.), and across all Majid AL Futtaim Properties BU's (SMBU, HOBU, COBU, incl. Head Office), involving cross functional team members from multiple Business Units and Functions in a specific country or spend category. Beside other tasks the day-to-day duties might comprise of supporting the finalization of demand requirements, setup of the tender strategy, issuance of the tender to bidders, receipting the bidder responses, analysis and evaluation of the proposals, supplier negotiations, obtaining of relevant approvals, and the entering of the resulting supplier contract. A sourcing activity can be a formal tender, RFP, RFQ, RFI/EOI, single source proposal, direct negotiation, and/or e-auction.

 

The holder of the role will interact with all levels of peers and leaders across the BU's and Functions, as well as executives of the supplier organizations. The role might support other countries or spend categories, if the demand should arise. The role might also place country related purchase orders and resolve related issues, if and when needed.

 

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Support requirements and demand management, support the preparation of sourcing strategies and complex sourcing processes.
  2. Support the planning, initiation and management of the related end-to-end sourcing process (RFx) including contract award and execution.
  3. Self-dependently run designated and assigned sourcing processes end-to-end, as delegated by the direct manager.
  4. Support or conduct supplier negotiations leading to the achievement of set goals and objectives, e.g. best value for money, lowest risk etc.
  5. Support or conduct the setup, development and finalization of supply contracts.
  6. Support or conduct regular market analysis and benchmarking exercises, identifying market trends and monitoring related developments.
  7. Working with Senior Procurement Specialists and/or the Procurement Category Leads on fulfilling the individual category, country or sourcing plans.
  8. Working with internal end-users, requestors, contributors, and subject matter experts in cross-functional teams.
  9. Entering and maintaining important procurement data and documentation, ensuring the correct and maximum utilization of E-Procurement tools (Oracle EBS, SAP/Ariba E-Sourcing, E-Auction and other databases etc.).
  10. Supporting and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, applying industry standards and market best practices.
  11. Support the regular reporting of sourcing/negotiation strategies and outcome, sourcing recommendation and benefits.
  12. Obtaining required approvals as per the companies DOA's, archiving all compliance data and documents, maintaining a perfect auditable trail.
  13. The role will focus on country requirements, but might assist other countries and/or spend categories should the demand arise.
  14. The role supports country specific requirements across all supplier spend categories and Majid AL Futtaim Properties BU's including Head Office.
  15. Requirements to be sourced might comprise of indirect and direct spend components (opex and capex).
  16. The role acts as a backup function for the centralized PO Operations Team in Dubai/UAE, and might support supplier creation, pre-qualification and purchase.
  17. Order placement, as well as the related trouble shooting as and when required.

 

Personal Characteristics and Required Background:

 

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years working experience from within a Procurement function, or similarly relevant role.

 

Minimum Experience

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration, Business Economics, Procurement or any related technical discipline from an accredited institution is a plus.
  • Professional Certification in Procurement and/or Supply Chain preferred (e.g. CIPS, CPSM etc.).
  • Project management and supplier negotiation skills.

 

Minimum Experience

  • Solid knowledge of MS Office and ERM/P systems (ideally Oracle, SAP/Ariba etc.).
  • Fluent in English verbal & written, Arabic preferred (but not a must).
  • Able to handle high amounts of stress, strong priority management, emotionally calm in conflict situations.
  • Analytical and organizational skills, structured planning and working, ability to multi-task.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
