Job Location: Cairo, Egypt

Job Purpose: To formulate the marketing strategies for Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands in Egypt & Africa thereafter implementing the marketing strategy through relevant plans, programs and promotions, in order to support the business units in meeting the business objectives.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develop the long term and annual marketing strategies for Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands based on study of the market trends, review of competitors’ activity, regional/local trends etc.
  • Generates annual marketing plans based on the above and implements the plan including preparing and managing the marketing budget and financial control relating to marketing spend.
  • Plans and executes all elements of the marketing mix in the plan including advertising, media, promotions, events etc.
  • Lead and coordinate the agency pitch process.
  • Identify the required promotional activities per location regionally and prepare the holistic plan that would suit most of the locations.
  • Manage the agencies for market research activities of Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands, in order to continually increase the effectiveness of the marketing efforts to identify new trends within the industry, consumer preferences and usage and attitudes in new markets.
  • Manage advertising agencies to ensure maximum penetration per EGP expended for the Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands. This will include selection, appointment, evaluation of advertising agencies, advertising briefs, media planning, reviewing output and evaluating advertising effectiveness.
  • Responsible for designing, planning and executing relevant sales promotion plans, campaigns and activities.
  • Plan and take up special events for Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands (both in collaboration with the Mall Promotion i.e. DSF/DSS, as well as standalone/ sponsored events).
  • Undertake a review of marketing trends in the ventures businesses internationally, in order to bring in new initiatives to increase customer flow.
  • Formulates the strategy for tie ups with third party agents, operators (i.e. travel/tour companies, hotels etc) and schools/institutes in order to ensure that the target customer inflow is met.
  • Develop mechanism for evaluating customer service/satisfaction and thereafter initiating corrective action.
  • Collects and analyses competitor information in order to facilitate marketing strategies/plans.
  • Develop and coordinate all activities with the Mall to ensure no conflicts or duplication and to leverage maximum advantage for Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands from Mall and MAF group marketing spend.
  • Manage the branding company during the pre-opening period and act as the guardian for all branding at Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands.
  • Identify potential brand partnership opportunities from third party sponsors in cash or in kind for Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands
  • Manage the planning of opening event and soft opening.
  • Develop and maintain a membership/loyalty program
  • Ensure suitable database of guests and third-party organizers is captured and maintained.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual marketing reports and budgets as required.
  • Provide the required support and materials to the sales team to promote Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands across the region and internationally.
  • Manage Majid Al Futtaim Ventures Brands Marketing Managers and Manage other Marketing representatives on the ground in other markets
  • Participate on all refurbishment projects and identify the required enhancement within each project.
  • Conduct the required Marketing research within new developments
  • Conduct continuous review of the brand’s performance and identify the tactics and the strategies to fix on short and long term
  • Manage the Marketing Budget keeping it with in the agreed on parameters and the guidelines

  • Capability to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of customer service orientation.
  • Capability of mange a team and other representative from a distance
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • P&L understanding with good financial exposure and understanding
  • Strategic with analytical perspective

Minimum Qualifications/education and experience

  • Should possess a degree from a recognized university preferably with Specialization in Marketing.
  • Have around 10+ years international experience in the marketing function within FMCG/ Leisure and/or entertainment industry with a proven track record of success.
  • Possess capability of putting together and implementing a marketing strategy/plan.
  • Must possess experience in managing special promotions and events.
  • Preference for a person having entertainment and retail business marketing experience.
