The Private Label Brand Manager is responsible for supporting and sourcing Private Label branded items ensuring the respect of the Private Label process, updates and deadlines aligned with the overall organization strategy.

Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Brand Strategy

  • Stay abreast of market trends and innovation to elaborate action plans and maintain Private Label brands’ strategy
  • Ensure the proper integration of the Private Label items within the merchandise department strategy
  • Prioritize development plan with the Private Label in coordination with Merchandising team and Sales Development team to maximise resources, and sales potential
  • Source, develop, negotiate, launch Private Label products online aligned with local development plans

Brand Sourcing

  • Ensure the stock availability for Private Label products
  • Coordinate and optimize development of packaging for relevant policies and procedures
  • Ensure the local Merchandise team are ordering the correct number of private label items for promotions and sampling
  • Ensure the respect of deadlines during Private Label development process by coordinating with Suppliers and Quality team to secure item planned launch dates

Tender and Negotiation

  • Engage in souring the best quality products for competitive prices aligned with the organizations objectives
  • Manage the issuances of tenders and RFQs in coordination with the relevant functions in MAF Retail

Quality Control

  • Oversee the development process of Private Label products ensuring the quality and safety
  • Ensures regular product performance review and propose action plans if necessary

Coordination with Internal Stakeholders

  • Coordinate with local Merchandise teams the Private Label development plans
  • Support local Merchandise teams with their category strategy definitions
  • Ensure the marketing of Private Label items in coordination with Marketing and Sales Development
  • Provide support to improve logistic flows, marketing and product display

Policies and Procedures

  • Oversee the development and implementation of relevant policies and procedures
  • Develop and implement a procedure for record keeping to support the organizations goals
  • Ensure Private Label items are in compliance with policies relate to MAF Retail, Private Label and local regulation

Human Capital Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management
  • Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
  • Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
  • Develop and implement on the job-training for the team
  • Provide inputs for the development of annual manpower plan
  • Ensure the implementation of MAF Retail’s corporate policies and relevant procedure

Definition of Success

  • Gross sales volume
  • Stock turnover rate
  • Private Label brand compliance to relevant policies and regulations
  • Coordination and communication with internal stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications/education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing

Minimum experience

  • 5+ years in a similar position
