ROLE DESCRIPTION

 

Title: Product Owner

 

Division/Department: Omni-Channel

 

Role Purpose

 

The Product Owner is responsible for driving out, implementing, defining and releasing a product that meets the customer's needs and achieves the squad goals. The role holder is also responsible for defining and prioritizing requirements (stories) in the Squad Backlog and also accepts requirements as completed.

 

Role Summary

 

Product Management and Delivery

 

  • Develop product vision and synchronize it with the Tribe/Cluster Lead and Product Owners in Squads responsible for the assigned product
  • Define product requirements; make sure they are complete, integral and consistent; the sole source of requirements for the Squad
  • Scope the MVP taking into account existing resource constraints and sustained development of the product
  • Accept sprint results at demonstration Contribute to Squad product development to the extent of her or his competence

 

Target Setting and Work Priorities

 

  • Build Squad backlog in terms of user stories, prioritize its items to achieve business goals, continuously keep the backlog up to date
  • Hold regular meetings with the Squad to update the Squad product backlog
  • Brief the squad regarding the requirements to ensure understanding
  • Participate in planning of the Squad's sprint, planning of the Tribe's super sprint to reaffirm priorities and clarify the requirements
  • Interact with other Squads and other tribes as part of Squad synchronization ceremonies to implement cross-Squad tasks

 

Squad Development Contribution

 

  • Support in defining the set of necessary competences in the Squad, in cooperation with the Tribe Architects and Chapter Leads

 

 

Definition of Success

 

  • Definition of an effective product roadmap
  • Implement of the assigned product as per the required standards
  • Building an effective squad backlog

 

Minimum Qualifications/Education

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering or related field
  • Background that comprises both solid business understanding as well as high-level understanding of high-quality digital product delivery

 

Minimum Experience

 

  • 5+ years of strong experience owning and delivering digital products, preferably within the same domain
  • Experience working in and leading agile teams
  • Previous experience in e-commerce, start-ups or similar dynamic digital environment

 

Skills

 

  • Ability to communicate effectively in multiple business areas (e.g., marketing, sales, finance, operations, technology)
  • Background that comprises both solid business understanding as well as high level understanding of high-quality digital product delivery
  • English (Full professional proficiency - Required)
  • Arabic is an advantage
